Screen Slate has published 365 days a year for the last nine years as a daily aggregate of NYC alternative screening listings accompanied by a short essay about something showing that day. In addition to our online listings and publishing platform, many of our readers have received these as a daily email newsletter.
In response to theater closures caused by COVID-19, we have pivoted to "Stream Slate" mode and are continuing to publish daily email dispatches including essays and recommendations based around streaming culture and online events. You can sign up here or view the archive here.
During this time we're also committed to continuing to pay writers. If you appreciate our work, please support us on Patreon.
Our website has been purpose-built for the daily listings model, so we're performing major changes to accommodate a longterm "Stream Slate" switch, with a relaunch coming later this year.
