Monday, Steven Spielberg's Discloasure Day is on 70mm at the Grand Lake all week (as well as the Drafthouse New Mission (NM) through Wednesday), Bad Education (on 35mm), The Cocaonuts (on 16mm), and Adolescence of Utena are at the Roxie, Django Unchained (on 35mm) is at the Balboa, Persona (through Wednesday) is at the Alamo Drafthouse Mountain View (MV), Serenity is at the New Parkway, and Philip Hartman's No Picnic (thru Thur.) and Some Like it Hot are at the Lark.

Tuesday, Mark Jenkin is in person to present his latest, Rose of Nevada, She's the He continues, and Jinsei screens at the Roxie, the Balboa screens Isabel Sandoval's Lingua Franca, Boogie Nights is at the Drafthouses Valley Fair (VF) and MV, Office Killer is at the Drafthouse New Mission (NM), and But I'm a Cheerleader begins floating around all three Drafthouses.

Wednesday, the 50th Frameline Film Festival kicks off with opening night screenings of Lady Champagne at the Castro and Leviticus at the Roxie and continues through next week, Antonio Carlos da Fontoura's Devil Queen is at all three Drafthouses (we don't technically have a write-up for this one, but Screen Slate mastermind Jon Dieringer cut a trailer for a Spectacle screening twelve years ago and summarized it thusly: "If you like weed, drag, and violence, then good news from Earth: you have a higher purpose this month."), 1990s Hindi lesbian drama Fire is at the New Parkway, Bleak Week wraps up at the Roxie with The Plague Dogs, Jean-Pierre Melville's Le samouraï is at rush at BAMPFA, the Stanford begins its Summer of Marilyn Monroe with The Seven Year Itch and Some Like it Hot (both on 35mm, repeating through Sunday), Elysium is at the Landmark Opera Plaza, Tetsuo: The Iron Man is at the Balboa, and Pink Flamingos (repeats Sunday) is at the 4 Star.

Thursday, Frameline presents some scandalously banned short films, including Jack Smith's Flaming Creatures (but Todd Haynes will DEFINITELY NOT be playing with dolls at this screening so you better not expect that), the Odyssey Film Institute screens Christopher Nolan's Insomnia on 35mm, L’eclisse is at BAMPFA, Philadelphia (repeats Friday) is at the Vogue, a Grease Sing-a-long is at the Orinda, and Nightmare on Elm Street 3 is at the 4 Star.

Friday, the Paramount in Oakland (!!) is showing movies again (!!!!) for the month of June so go see Fruitvale Station on 35mm  (!!!!!!!) because we would really like them to keep doing that, among much else Frameline has Gregg Araki in person for his new movie, I Want Your Sex, at the Castro, With Hasan In Gaza opens and music doc The Blues Society screens at the Roxie, Female Trouble is at the Drafthouses MV and VF, Force Majeure is at the Drafthouse MV (Saturday at VF), I Am Not Your Negro is at all three Drafthouses, Dope is at the Balboa, Selena is at the 4 Star, Road House (1989) (repeats Sat.)is at the Lark, and The Big Lebowski is at the Landmark Opera Plaza.

Saturday, Shapeshifters' long-running Gravitational Lensing series continues with Program 16: Queer Joy, Friendship & Community (feat. a Barbara Hammer short on 16mm, which... maybe you want to go see in preparation for our feature next week?), Gregg Araki is in person for a new restoration of Mysterious Skin at the Drafthouse NM, Body Double is at all three Drafthouses, Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice and Raiders of the Lost Ark (repeats Sunday at all three Drafrthouses) at the Drafthouse MV, Frameline presents our feature this week, Castration Movie Chapter iii, unfortunately already at rush at the New Parkway, BAMPFA has Stanley Kubrick's Fear and Desire (on 35mm) and Melville's Le cercle rouge, A Hard Day's Night is at the Balboa, Brokeback Mountain (repeats Sunday) is at the Vogue, Female Trouble (repeats Sunday) is at the 4 Star, The Elephant Man is at the Smith Rafael, and the Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum present Danish adventure drama Atlantis (on 16mm).

Sunday, Vital Signs presents friend-of-the-newsletter Caroline Golum's low-budget DIY mystical sensation Revelations of Divine Love at Shapeshifters with Golum in person, Rosa von Praunheim's City of Lost Souls and Matardor Bolero are at the 4 Star, Karla Murthy is in person at the Roxie to present her doc The Gas Station Attendant, among Frameline's many offerings is Stephen Winter's reexamination of his reexamination of Shirley Clarke's Portrait of Jason, Jason & Shirley Revisited, Aftersun is a the three Drafthouses and Johnny Guitar is at the Drafthouse NM and MV, BAMPFA screens Red Desert, Ma Vie en Rose is a the Balboa, and Rebel Without a Cause and Coup 53 are at the Lark.
