Refn's Drive (on 35mm) at the Balboa, Sarah McBride doc State of Firsts is at the Roxie with director Chase Joynt in person, and Brian DePalma's Scarface is at Alamo Drafthouse Valley Fair (VF) (repeating at the Drafthouses Mountain View (MV) and New Mission (NM) Tuesday).

Tuesday, 1983 lesbian soccer sex comedy Onda Nova (banned in its home country of Brazil and unreleased outside of it until now opens at the Roxie) opens at the Roxie, where Frances Ha (on 35mm) and Mikey and Nicky return and a fundraiser screening of Ukrainian frontline medic documentary Cuba & Alaska benefits Cars For Ukraine, actor Julie Carmen is in person for a screening of John Carpenter's In the Mouth of Madness at the Balboa, Lamberto Bava's Delirium: Photo of Gioia is at the Drafthouse NM, and Romy & Michelle's High School Reunion (repeats Wed. ) is at the Vogue.

Wednesday, Julie Carmen returns to the Balboa for Night of the Juggler, this year's Frankel Film Fest, where contemporary artists pick films they love, kicks off at the Roxie with Brian DePalma's Carrie and RoxCine presents a double feature of Agnes Varda's Mur Murs and ASCO: Without Permission, Howard the Duck is at the Drafthouse NM, Inception is at the Landmark Opera Plaza, Stanley Kubrick's Paths of Glory (on 35mm) is at BAMPFA, and the Stanford has a Claudette Colbert double feature for the weekday screening with Let's Make it Legal and The Palm Beach Story (both on 35mm, repeating Thursday).

Thursday, Barbara Loden's Wanda (on 35mm) begins film preservationist Ross Lipman's residency weekend at BAMPFA, Julie Carmen is back at the Balboa one more time for Fright Night Part 2, Get Out and Pickup on South Street are at the Roxie, and Legally Blonde (repeats Thurs.) is at the Vogue.

Friday, the Paramount Oakland screens Mrs. Doubtfire (on 35mm), the Stanford has a one-day-only Joan Crawford double of her breakout silent film, Our Dancing Daughters (featuring live organ accompaniment), and the (unseen for a nearly a century due to a copyright lawsuit) pre-code Letty Lynton, Sherman’s March and Romería open at the Roxie, who also screen Persona and Princess Mononoke, Lipman introduces The Times of Harvey Milk at BAMPFA, Jack Johnson doc SURFILMUSIC opens at the Balboa, and the Lark has a double feature of Dark Star and Tetsuo the Iron Man (both repeating Sat.).

Saturday, Tim Burton's Batman (repeating through Monday) is on 70mm at the Drafthouse NM, BAMPFA's Isao Takahata series continues with Grave of the Fireflies before Ross Lipman introduces a matinee of The Exploding Digital Inevitable, his doc about Bruce Connor's Crossroads (screening alongside Crossroads), then an evening screening of Kent Mackenzie's The Exiles (our feature this week—see below!), Samuel Fuller's The Naked Kiss is at the Orinda, the Stanford has a Marion Davies double with King Vidor's The Patsy (with live organ accompaniment) and It's a Wise Child, the Roxie has director Lilian Mehrel in person to present Honeyjoon, plus The Princess Bride and North by Northwest (on 35mm), Excalibur is at the Drafthouse MV, Kirikou and the Sorceress is at the Smith Rafael, Clueless (repeats Sun.) is at the Vogue, Kiki's Delivery Service, Barrio Triste (both repeat Sun.), and All About Lily Chou-Chou are at the 4 Star, The Rock (repeats Sun.) is at the Lark, and The Man on the Box is at the Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum.

Sunday, Close Encounters of the Third Kind is on 70mm at the Castro, the Stanford has a Mary Pickford double with My Best Girl (with live organ accompaniment) and a Frank Borzage deep cut, Secrets, Huo Meng's Living the Land has a one-off screening at the Roxie, who also screen Remaining Native and Barry Lyndon, One-Eyed Jacks is at BAMPFA, Anthon Mann's El Cid is at the Orinda as part of the Widescreen Roadshow Series, Josie & the Pussycats is at the New Parkway, Hiroshima Mon Amour is at the Balboa, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is at the Lark, and the Niles's Sunday Talkie matinee is Laurel & Hardy's Sons of the Desert.
