Monday, the Fraenkel Film Festival continues with artist-chosen double features at the Roxie all week, starting with Klute (on 35mm) and our feature this week, Withnail & I, Eraserhead (on 35mm, repeats Tuesday) is at the Balboa, where Jack Johnson: SURFILMUSIC continues, Tim Burton's Batman is on 70mm at the Alamo Drafthouse New Mission (NM), S. S. Rajamouli's Baahubali: The Epic is at the Drafthouse Mountain View (MV) (also Wed. at the Drafhouse NM), Jurassic Park is at the Drafthouses Valley Fair (VF) and MV (and Wed at Drafthouse NM), Carlito's Way is at the Drafthouse NM (and at the other Drafthouses through Wed.), Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is at the Lark, as is Silent Friend if you missed it elsewhere.

Tuesday, The Rules of the Game and The Warriors are at the Roxie, who also continue Brazilian lesbian soccer sex comedy Onda Nova, and Cabaret (repeats Wednesday) is at the Vogue.

Wednesday, the Stanford's Marilyn-centric summer season continues with a double feature of Howard Hawks's Monkey Business and Billy Wilder's first feature, The Major and the Minor (both on 35mm, repeating Thursday), the Super Shangri-La show is back at the Balboa for Race with the Devil, Port of Shadows continues BAMPFA's French Noir series, the Roxie continues Sherman’s March, opens Carla Simon's Alcarràs followup Romería,  and screens La Cérémonie and The Face of Another (on 35mm), Batman Begins is at the Landmark Opera Plaza, and Jane Fonda-narrated doc Gaslit is at the Landmark with filmmaker Kati Camosy in person.

Thursday, the SF Jewish Film Festival kicks off and runs through next weekend, the Roxie has Happy as Lazzaro and Mystery Train (on 35mm), Help Me, My Love (on 35mm) continues BAMPFA's Summer with Monica Vitti, the Orinda has a free screening of High Noon, The Odyssey opens on 70mm at the Grand Lake and 35mm at the Balboa, who also screen Situations with director Greg Vrotsos in person, and In the Heights (repeats Friday) is at the Vogue.

Friday, YBCA hosts Ashley Clark for a signing of his new book, The World of Black Film, and a screening of Zeinabu irene Davis's Compensation, the Broncho Billy Silent Film Festival kicks off at the Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum with The Black Pirate, the annual Godzillafest takes over the Balboa all weekend, The Man Who Fell to Earth (repeating Saturday) is at the Lark, the Roxie has Her and Law of Desire (on 35mm) and opens a new restoration of Shunji Iwai's Love Letter, the Paramount Oakland's Friday feature is the silent classic The Mark of Zorro (with live accompaniment), Lolita continue BAMPFA's Stanley Kubrick series, the Stanford's weekend double feature is Singin' in the Rain Hawks's Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (both on 35mm, repeating through Sunday), Blow Out is at the Drafthouse NM and Flow is at all three Drafthouses, and the Sandra Hüller-narrated doc Underland opens at the Smith Rafael.

Saturday, the Roxie screens Grey Gardens, FernGully: The Last Rainforest, Solaris, and Hiroshima Mon Amour, BAMPFA has Isao Takahata's The Tale of The Princess Kaguya and an at rush screening of François Truffaut's Shoot the Piano Player (with Laura Truffaut in person), Persepolis is at the Smith Rafael, actor Mimi Gibson is in person at the Orinda for screenings of 101 Dalmatians and Houseboat, West Side Story (1961) (repeats Sunday) is at the Vogue, the 4 Star screens the Phillip Seymour Hoffman-starring A Most Wanted Man, Labyrinth (repeats Sunday), a shorts selection from the African Film Fest, Bambi, and Face/Off are at the Lark.

Sunday, Jessica Ernshaw is in person to present Baby Doe at the Roxie, who also screen a new restoration of trans classic By Hook or by Crook with director Harry Dodge in person, BAMPFA screens Takahata's Gauche the Cellist and Kubrick's A Clockwork OrangeFollow That Bird, PSH-starring God's Pocket, God Said Give 'Em Drum Machines, and Poppers are at the 4 Star, and Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence is at the Lark.
