Tuesday, the Roxie welcomes Raoul Peck for a Q&A after his new film, Orwell: 2+2=5 (which otherwise opens Friday), gets a jump on Gialloween with The Possessed (La donna del lago), and continues their Wild, Weird, Wicked: Films from Before the Code series with Michael Curtiz's two-color Technicolor Doctor X, the directors of Māori doc Mauri are at the Grand Lake, Bride of Re-Animator is at the Drafthouse NM, and Nicholas Ray's In a Lonely Place is at the Balboa.
Wednesday, take a queer trip to Shinjuku circa Funeral Parade of Roses with Michio Okabe's Crazy Love at BAMPFA, John Frankenheimer's Seconds is at the Drafthouse NM, the Electronic Frontier Foundation presents 1984 at the Roxie, who also have another showing of Possession (repeats Sunday), The Company of Wolves is at the Balboa, Carrie (repeats Thursday) is at the Vogue, Matewan is at the 4 Star, and Barefoot in the Park is at the Lark.

Friday, Litquake hosts Jeff Chang, author of Water Mirror Echo: Bruce Lee and the Making of Asian America, alongside a screening of Fist of Fury at the 4 Star, Lifeforce The International Cut and The Craft begin a weekend tour of the Drafthouses, the 3rd i SF International South Asian Film Festival takes over the Roxie for the weekend, La Haine is at the Drafthouse VF, Fright Night is at the Balboa, House is at the New Parkway, Night of the Living Dead (1968, repeats Saturday) is at the Lark, Craig Baldwin and 99 Hooker present some archival oddities in Incredibly Strange Music + Britney Buddha at Shapeshifters, the Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum's talkie Fridays presents White Zombie (on 16mm), and Proxy presents Every Little Thing on the outdoor screen at Patricia's Green.
