Monday, Mermaids is at the Alamo Drafthouse New Mission and Flash Gordon at the Balboa.

Tuesday, Rick Prelinger and the Western Neighborhoods Project present a special edition of Lost Landscapes focusing on the western neighborhoods of San Francisco to celebrate the 4 Star's birthday, Constantine and Dog Day Afternoon are at the Drafthouse, and Werckmeister Harmonies is at the Balboa.

Wednesday, the Roxie's ongoing selection of locally-made short films continues with Roxie Mixtape #8: Side A and Side B (After Dark), Time Bandits at the Balboa, Clue (repeats Thursday) at the Vogue, and Dìdi at the New Parkway.

Thursday, CiNEOLA presents Lola Arias's Reas (free with RSVP) at SFMOMA, the Stanford begins a short Fred Astaire program with a double feature of Follow the Fleet and, featuring the first on-screen pairing of Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Flying Down to Rio (both on 35mm, repeating Friday), The Island of Doctor Moreau (1996, on VHS) is at the Balboa, Akira is at the New Parkway, and Charles Burnett's The Annihilation of Fish and, our feature this week, The Times of Harvey Milk (on 35mm) are at the Roxie.

Friday, Park Chan Wook's Lady Vengeance (on 35mm) is this month's staff pick at the Roxie, who also screen Akira Kurosawa's Ran (repeats Sunday) and open French "ode to cheese"/coming of age drama Holy Cow (also at the Smith Rafael), Space is the Place (with live music) is at the 4 Star, the SF Greek Film Festival presents musicl biopic Stelios (repeats Saturday) at Delancey Street, and the Balboa begins a weekend-long Hitchcock festival with Strangers on a Train and Rear Window (on 35mm).

Saturday, the Stanford's weekend show is an Astaire/Rogers double with The Gay Divorcee, their first feature together, and Roberta (both on 35mm, repeating Sunday), a 50th anniversary screening of Jaws is at the Drafthouse, the Roxie screens House (Hausu) (on 35mm) and 1949 Bay Area noir Impact, with Barry Gifford in person to discuss his new book on noir, the Balboa screens Demon Days: Live and the Hitchcock fest continues with Suspicion, Dial M for Murder, and North by Northwest, Spirited Away (repeats Sunday) is at the the 4 Star, Other Cinema presents a benefit screening of climate change-related short films, and The Lost World is at the Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum.

Sunday, CiNEOLA presents "Cuerpos: Territorios y travesías (Bodies: Territories and Crossings)," a selection of short films at SFMOMA, The Neverending Story is at the New Parkway, the Roxie has Miyazaki's Porco Rosso, plus PJ Starr in person to present a work-in-progress screening of Manifesting Monica Jones, Maurizio & Zaya Benazzo to present their doc The Eternal Song, Catherine Gund to present her "docu-poem" Meanwhile, Maurane & Billy Pedlow to present Me and My Victim, and the Balboa has more Hitchcock with Marnie, Rope, and To Catch a Thief.
