Tuesday, if you missed the Kiyoshi Kurosawa double of Chime and Serpent's Path a few weeks ago, it's this week's Terror Tuesday pick at the Drafthouses and the Odyssey Film Institute presents The People Vs. Larry Flynt (on 35mm) at the Balboa.
Wednesday, Beach Blanket BIngo (on 35mm) is at the Drafthouse New Mission, the Stanford's double feature this week is an Bogie/Bacall double feature of Key Largo and SF-set Dark Passage (both on 35mm, both through Sunday), and Pedro Almodovar's Bad Education (on 35mm) is at the Roxie.
Thursday, the new Spielberg, Disclosure Day, opens wide but it's on 70mm at the Grand Lake and the Drafthouse New Mission, and Odyssey presents Batman Begins (on 35mm) at the Balboa.
Friday, Shapeshifters has a fundraiser screening of Takashi Nakamura's Catnapped! (twice, actually—once dubbed, once subbed), trans teen sex comedy She's the He opens at the Roxie, Destination Moon! (on 16mm) is at the Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum, and the Smith Rafael invites co-directors Laetitia Jacquart And Corinne Sullivan to present SF-set doc Fire Within for their Pride month series (which continues through the weekend).
Saturday, our feature this week is Time After Time, screening on Saturday at the Vogue with director Nicholas Meyer in person, along with Star Trek IV, written by Meyer, McSweeney's presents a double double feature of documentaries and their Documentary Now! parody episodes with Original Cast Album and Grey Gardens, the Niles screens the Marion Davies-starring Quality Street (on 16mm), and the Smith Rafael hosts director Don Hardy for his Linday Perry doc, Let It Die Here.
Sunday, the Balboa screens Ed Wood's Glen or Glenda (on 16mm) and the Roxie has a BAAITS benefit screening of Two Spirits with director Lydia Nibley and others in person.
