Friday, BAMPFA kicks off their Summer season and a new Noir series, In Lonely Places: Film Noir Beyond the City, with Michael Curtiz's The Breaking Point (on 35mm) introduced by Imogen Sara Smith, Kamikaze Hearts, with director Juliet Bashore and lead Sharon Mitchell in person, is at the Balboa, Shapeshifters Cinema presents the latest entry in their ongoing series, Gravitational Lensing: Feminist Film Dialogues, with a program focusing on parenthood, and the Roxie has our feature this week, Nobuhiko Obayashi's His Motorbike, Her Island.
