Gallery, a 25th anniversary screening of lo-fi space western musical American Astronaut (on 35mm) is at the Roxie, the Super Shangri-La Show is back at the Balboa with a spooky apartment double feature The Dark Room, an episode of 1950s horror anthology show One Step Beyond, and Michael Winner's The Sentinel, alongside an Odyssey Film Institute screening of Twilight (on 35mm, evening show sold out), Tommy (repeats Thursday) is at the Vogue, Eyes Wide Shut is at the Landmark Opera Plaza, and Democracy Noir is at the Grand Lake.
Thursday, The Weight screens with a livestream Q&A at the Drafthouses NM and MV, Brydie O'Connor migrates to the Baboa for one more Barbara Forever screening, Zyzzyva and Litquake bring Rebecca Solnit to the Roxie to present a screening of Songs of Earth, the latest SF *Fest iterration, CritterFest, takes over the 4 Star, Atonement is at the New Parkway and The Misfits is at the Orinda.

Saturday, Other Cinema presents Psychedelic Cinema at Artists' Television Access (incl. new work by Toney Merritt), Joan Chen is in person to inaugurate I Lost It Over..., a new series selected by Alice Wu at the 4 Star, where Chen recounts the first time she saw Body Heat before a screening of said film, the SF Silent Film Festival screens Buster Keaton's The General with live musical accompaniment by Timothy Brock at the Orinda, Basic Instinct is at the Drafthouse VF, Lucrecia Martel's La Cienega is at the Smith Rafael, Jean-Luc Godard's Contempt and Tsai Ming-Liang's The Hole (on 35mm) are at BAMPFA, the latest entry in the SF Lost Neon shows, this time focusing on Chinatown, Kwaidan (4K Restoration) and a selection of short works by Balinese shadow theater maestro Larry Reed are at the Roxie, Los Video Nasties is at the 4 Star, A Christmas Story and Stargate are at the New Parkway, and the Niles has its monthly Comedy Shorts Night.
