Monday, Roxie has Frances Ha in 35mm (Repeats Sun!) while Rose of Nevada, and  I Love Boosters continue through the week. Balboa has Promare. While Disclosure Day 70MM continues at the Grand Lake. ATA is presenting a three-projector celluloid meditation live-scored by Rewards Program. ReelVotes presents Amelie at The New Parkway. As part of John Early’s guest programming, Alamo has The Brady Bunch Movie (New Mission and Valley Fair, M.V. on Weds) and Vengeance Is Mine. While Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio opens at all three Alamos.

Tuesday, Roxie repeats Moonrise Kingdom. Balboa urges you to Don’t Be a Menace…Vogue begins a rare foray into the third dimension with Jaws 3-D (repeats Weds). At the Alamos Godzilla vs Biollante continues at New Mission and Valley Fair, and Talladega Nights plays Valley Fair and Mountain View. Fede Alvarez’s Evil Dead (2013) is the Terror Tuesday at New Mission.

Wednesday, Roxie presents Strangers on a Train as part of ZYZZYVA Movie Night. The Balboa has The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. 4 Star screens Jagged Edge presented by HI NRG.In the East Bay, the BAMPFA’s Monica Vitti series presents I Married You for Fun. While down the peninsula the Stanford has The Working Man and As Young as You Feel (repeats Thu). Further south De Palma’s Blow Out shows at Alamo’s Mountain View and Valley Fair.

Thursday, Roxie has Sundance AI-doc  Ghost in the Machine (Dr. Adam Becker in person). As Tears Go By plays at the Balboa. The Vogue celebrates the 4th early with the original Jaws (repeats Friday). You still have time to submit a short for the July edition of OpenScreening at ATA. At the 4 Star, Trash & Treasures presents Soviet sci-fi comedy Kin Dza Dza! And BAMPFA has late Ghibli auteur Isao Takahata’s Only Yesterday (repeats Sun). 

Friday, Chicano art doc ASCO: Without Permission and the latest restoration Mickey & Nicky open at the Roxie. At the Balboa, Texas Chainsaw Massacre plays on 16mm. Vogue has 90s summer blockbuster Independence Day (repeats Saturday). This weekend films at the Stanford are All About Eve and The Bad and the Beautiful (repeats, Sat & Sun). Museo de la Noche plays at the 4 Star with live drag before the film. BAMPFA has Marcel Carné’s Le jour se lève (1939).

Saturday, 4 Star’s Popcorn Palace show is the Ukrainian animated film, Mavka: the Fest Song (free). The Barry Lyndon rerelease opens at Roxie. Balboa repeats Texas Chainsaw, but this time on DCP. Smith Rafael has 1970s Italian Fantasia spoof Allegro Non Tropo as part of the Essential Animation series. Lawrence of Arabia plays Alamo Mountain View. While BAMPFA shows Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.

Sunday, FiliKula presents rarely seen Once a Moth (1976). Castro has the Mandalorian and Grogu and the raucous final screening of Stop! That! Train! The Balboa has The Deer Hunter.  Shapeshifter’s Cinema presents Mare’s Nest as part of the Vital Signs series. The Monica Vitti series continues at BAMPFA with The Girl with a Pistol. Once Upon a Time in China plays Alamo Mountain View, and Scarface plays New Mission.
