Tuesday, Ju-On: The Curse is at the Drafthouse NM, Stanley Kwan's Center Stage (repeats Sun.) and Jan Nemec's Diamonds of the Night are at the Roxie, Jacob's Ladder is at the Balboa, Bullitt (repeats Wed.) is at the Vogue, and Kiyoshi Kurosawa's The Samurai and the Prisoner opens at the New Parkway.

Wednesday, F. W. Murnau's Faust with a live score by Invisible Czars and No Picnic are at the Drafthouse NM, The Samurai and the Prisoner and Barrio Triste continue at the Roxie, David Cronenberg's Dead Ringers is at the Balboa, Demolition Man is at the Landmark Opera Plaza, Impact is at the Lark, and Giant (on 35mm, repeats Thursday) is at the Stanford.

Thursday, Alice Diop begins her two-week residency at BAMPFA with an at-rush screening of Saint Omer, Fantastic Planet continues the Roxie's René Laloux series, Holy Motors is at the Balboa, The Game (repeats Fri.) is at the Vogue, and Faust and F. W. Murnau's Nosferatu with live scores by the Invisible Czars are at the Lark.

Friday, our feature this week, the 2026 CROSSROADS film festival, takes over Gray Area for 8 programs of experimental films from 52 artists, Alice Diop returns to BAMPFA for an at-rush screening of We, a new 35mm print of Tsai Ming-Liang's The Hole and Filipiñana open at the Roxie, the Stanford has a Joshua Logan double feature with Bus Stop and Picnic (both on 35mm, thu Sun.), Nosferatu with a live score by Invisible Czars and The Fog are at the Drafthouse NM, Star Trek: The Motion Picture is at all three Drafthouses, Creature from the Black Lagoon (on 35mm in 3D!) is at the Balboa, and an all-day, three-day Noir Fest kicks off at the Lark.

Saturday, Bruce Campbell is in person at the Drafthouse MV for Ernie & Emma, at BAMPFA, the Fall season kicks off with Breathless opening a new series of Jean-Luc Godard's Early Films and Mean Streets opening a new 10-month series of Martin Scorsese Pictures, Star Trek II is at all three Drafthouses, Selena is at the Smith Rafael, Frankenstein with a live score by Sleepbomb is at the Balboa, Zodiac (repeats Sun.) is at the Vogue, the Ocean Beach Surf Film Festival takes over the 4 Star for the weekend, Death Becomes Her is at the New Parkway, and Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm is at the Orinda.
