San Francisco Silent Film Festival 2025

Series Site

The San Francisco Silent Film Festival (SFSFF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the presentation and preservation of silent cinema, and the education of the public about silent film as an art form and as a culturally valuable historical record.

We’ve found  a home away from home while the Castro is being renovated, a theater with a sizable movie screen, room to set up musicians, a large number of seats, and a vibrant neighborhood—the Orinda Theatre! The 1941 Art Deco-style Orinda is nestled in a lovely village with shops and restaurants, a four-minute walk from the BART station (Orinda is the first stop after you leave Oakland eastbound—a 30-minute ride from SF’s Civic Center and a mere eight minutes from MacArthur BART). Plus there’s parking!
