Here’s some fun from the Land of the Rising Sun: a daylight hour sister series to Anime After Dark, MIDDAY ANIME, a brunch series featuring work from three powerhouse directors: Mamoru Hosoda (SUMMER WARS), Hayao Miyazaki (THE CASTLE OF CAGLIOSTRO, his debut), and Rintaro (METROPOLIS, 35mm). We’re also featuring a new film, PENGUIN HIGHWAY, a fantasy adventure about a town that suddenly gets overrun with super-cute penguins.
