Memorial Day Weekend: Perspectives on WWII

Series Site

"Focus Features and Museum of the Moving Image—in collaboration with Pressure director/co-writer/editor Anthony Maras—celebrate Memorial Day 2026 with a presentation of films that offer powerful perspectives on World War II. Set during the tense 72 hours before D-Day, the high-stakes dramatic thriller Pressure tells the story General Dwight D. Eisenhower and meteorologist Captain Dr. James Stagg as they face the impossible choice of launching the most dangerous seaborne invasion in history or risk losing the war. This trio of films—Joe Wright’s Darkest Hour, Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk, and Steven Spielberg’s Saving Private Ryan—bring to life the courage and camaraderie (at home and on the battlefield) that define some of the most consequential moments in history.

Focus Features will release Pressure in theaters May 29, 2026."–Museum of the Moving Image
