Different sides of the same city existed alongside each other for nearly 30 years in Germany’s capital. Completely the same and opposite concurrently. While East and West Berlin both stayed on a strong path with regards to art, music and social courage, the East/West governing forces Berliners lived under caused them to manifest in different, but equally powerful ways.
To commemorate the now 30 years since real people power finally brought the wall down, we look at individuals from both sides who’s actions, creativity and determination still inspire.
