In this thematically and geographically expansive program, writer, curator, and former BAM Director of Film Programming Ashley Clark presents an eclectic selection of works featured in his new book, The World of Black Film: A Journey Through Cinematic Blackness in 100 Films (Laurence King Publishing), a thought-provoking survey of important and influential international Black movies. From Harlem to Rio de Janeiro, Kingston to Dakar, and far beyond, these singular and enthralling films explore the complementary, contrasting, and frequently interconnected experiences and histories of Black people around the globe.

Series programmer Ashley Clark will introduce the opening night screening of Daughters of the Dust and sign his new book, The World of Black Film.
