To Save and Project: The 17th MoMA International Festival of Film Preservation

Series Site

To Save and Project features newly preserved and restored films from archives, studios, distributors, foundations, and individual filmmakers around the world. This year’s program, organized by Dave Kehr, begins with the restoration premiere of two major silent films from MoMA’s archive: D. W. Griffith’s Isn’t Life Wonderful (1924) and Raoul Walsh’s Loves of Carmen (1927). The lineup also includes discoveries, established classics, world cinema beyond the western canon, pioneering documentaries, and an extensive program (curated by MoMA’s Katie Trainor and Ron Magliozzi) of home movies.
