With her revelatory new short film America, Garrett Bradley does nothing less than construct a joyous alternative history of African-American representation on screen. For this week-long special presentation, we present Bradley’s stunning vision in seven different programs, each offering a unique prism through which to consider the history—and future—of the construction of Blackness in American cinema. We’re delighted to also present a retrospective of pre-America work by Bradley, one of the most intriguing and versatile filmmakers active today.
