Dirty Work: The Dirtier Cut

Screen Slate Presents
Dirty Work: The Dirtier Cut
Wednesday, May 21 - Tuesday, May 27
Low Cinema, 70-11 60th St, Ridgewood, NY 11385
World Theatrical Premiere Run - New 4K restoration from the 35mm original camera negative of the never-before-seen “Dirtier Cut” preferred by filmmakers and cast
If there is something every man, woman, and child can agree upon, it is that Dirty Work is the greatest of all films. The story of two friends (Norm Macdonald and Artie Lange) and their revenge-for-hire business features Macdonald’s greatest screen role alongside a multigenerational who’s-who of comedy legends including Don Rickles, Chevy Chase, Adam Sandler, and Chris Farley.
Much of the cast and crew, including director Bob Saget and Macdonald, remained close in the decades following Dirty Work’s release. In interviews and podcasts, many expressed their desire to release their preferred cut, which was completed before changes were made to secure a PG-13 rating. Thanks to the work of America’s greatest film restoration specialists, who were able to access the 35mm original camera negative of all footage and conduct a new 4K restoration, the “Dirtier Cut” can finally be seen—at once filthier and more pristine than it has ever been shown before.
These screenings will be presented by special guests, including:
- Wednesday, May 21, 8pm - Intro by Screen Slate’s Jon Dieringer, author on an essay of the films of Bob Saget
- Thursday, May 22, 8pm - Intro and Q&A with Dirty Work co-writer Frank Sebastiano moderated by Mike Hunchback
- Saturday, May 24, 8pm - Intro and Q&A with Vinegar Syndrome’s Oscar Becher, who supervised the restoration
