"When video Porta-paks came on the scene in the late 1960s, consumers were transformed into producers. Reminiscent of the Ghostbusters’ Proton-Pack, the Porta-pak had one trigger-operated unit, the camera, that used a focused beam of subatomic particles, and another unit, worn over the shoulder or on the back, which held storage canisters and a power-source. Formed as part of a “guerilla television” movement, the filmmaking collective Top Value Television, or TVTV, were unruly instigators who used the Porta-pak to wreak havoc in institutions that expect a reserved decorum - not unlike the Ghostbusters themselves."-Metrograph
