Nitehawk celebrates the 200th birthday of horror’s first monster with a mini-series inspired by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley eponymous novel. Born from a rainy day in Switzerland when Shelley and her husband Percy Shelley along with Jane Clairmont, Lord Byron, and John Polidori swapped ghost stories, Frankenstein, or the Modern Prometheus was published when she was only 21 years old. Since then, there have been numerous adaptations of the Monster in plays, films, and popular culture and we’re excited to present a fun cross-spectrum to get you into the Halloween spirit: a double feature of James Whale’s Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein, Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein, and a special VHS screening of Paul Morrissey’s Flesh for Frankenstein.
