Go Nightclubbing!: Downtown New York 1977-80
Emily Armstrong and Pat Ivers didn’t have to rely on the passage of time to know what the CBGB set would represent. Borrowing video equipment from Manhattan Cable TV, where they worked at the time, they set out to document the downtown New York music scene and edited their footage into a TV show called Nightclubbing.
On the occasion of this weekend's screenings of Nightclubbing, Armstrong and Ivers spoke to Screen Slate's Chloe Lizotte about punks, portapaks, and early public television.
